He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. Revelation 3:5 NKJV
It’s not too late. Jesus gives three promises to the overcomers in the Sardis church.
Clothed in white: White stands for purity. It stands in contrast to the red wool garments that were made in Sardis.
All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. (Isaiah 64:6 NIV)
The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.” (Zechariah 3:4 NIV)
Those that overcome the world will be clothed in Christ’s robe of righteousness. We will have the assurance of eternal life.
