Sleeping in peace

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety. Psalms 4:8 NIV

This verse reminds me of a bedtime prayer I learned as a child:

Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray the Lord my soul to keep;

If I should die before I wake,

I pray the Lord my soul to take

When you have peace, you can sleep through anything. Jesus slept through the storm (Matthew 8:23-27). He knew He was safe in the hands of His Father. We too can sleep and live in peace because we know our Heavenly Father watches over us. We have nothing to fear.
