Soaring with God

Soaring with God

but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31 NIV)

We think of waiting as being inactive. It is not always – in this case, the word means to bind together, to expect something. When I am expecting something, I am not inactive – I am preparing, getting excited, looking for clues that it’s about to happen. My entire demeanor is animated and alive – I am ready. I have new power and strength. The power to lift my wings that seemed so heavy when I was lifting by myself, suddenly…..suddenly, there is flight and air and then…… then there is soaring! With God as my focus – as I continue to look for Him, I get more air and I soar a little higher. He is lifting. When I am tired, I remember the soaring and even though I don’t always want to lift my heavy wings, I do and with Jesus help, I soar again.
