Standing on the Promises of God

There are times when life gets down-right hard. Times when you can’t seem to see your way out of the deep hole you are standing in. It’s times like these when it really helps to remember some of God’s promises.

I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future full of hope.  Jeremiah 29:11 (GNT)

– notice this one says for a future full of hope….not a future of destruction and helplessness but a future positively full of good things from God. That is His plan.

We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (GNT)

– This doesn’t say you are not going to go through hard things but it says that God will walk you through it and it will work out for His good. It’s important to keep in perspective that His good may not be the same as our idea of good.

I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me. Philippians 4:13 (GNT)

– And this one this one promises that if we stay focused on him, he will provide the strength we need to see it through.

And, when it feels like we can’t continue, “Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end.” Hebrews 12:2 (GNT) Stay focused.
