Standing Your Ground

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13 NIV)

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.  To go out with partial armor is looking for failure when temptation comes.  We need to put on the full armor of God.  If we omit any part of the armor that God provides, it will be a weak spot where Satan can attack and overcome us.  Jesus said He was an overcomer and we can be the same.  Jesus spent much time in prayer and the scriptures which gave Him the power to overcome the devil’s cunning schemes and temptations.  As we continue our study, we will discover each piece of armor that God gives to us.  It will only protect us if we put each piece on.  We can’t do it on our own. We have already tried it and have failed.  We need His armor to cover us.
