Step of Faith

But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and has made the Lord his hope and confidence. Jeremiah 17:7 (TLB)

Ever find yourself stating “I trust God” with a huge knot in your stomach?  What does it look like to know in your head that you trust God but your heart is afraid? It looks normal. Elijah was afraid when Queen Jezebel threatened to kill him. He ran and hid. When Jesus asked God to take the cup from him, did he have a knot in his stomach? The knot isn’t the problem. Fear or pain isn’t the problem. The problem will come when and if we take our eyes off Jesus. Walking through difficult circumstances will always be challenging to our humanness. Our peace comes from continuing to turn our gaze to God. So when you are standing on the edge of the cliff, feeling the knot, shout “I trust You!” and take the step of faith. God’s got you.

Do not be afraid—I am with you!
I am your God—let nothing terrify you!
I will make you strong and help you;
I will protect you and save you.
Isaiah 41:10 (GNT)
