Stuck Like Glue on Jesus

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12 NIV)

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve gave up their rulership of the world to Satan.  Ever since, Satan has been focused on destroying God’s glorious creation.  We can’t see Satan for he and his evil angels are there.  They make life miserable.  It can be very discouraging to think about the power that evil has in this world.  But, if you keep your eyes on Jesus, what a difference it will make.

Do you remember the story in 2 Kings 6:8-23 when Elisha’s servant was afraid when he saw that the city was surrounded by enemy soldiers.  “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:16-17.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39 NIV)
