“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (John 10:11 NIV)
In John 10:1-21, Jesus refers to Himself as the Good Shepherd. He compares what a shepherd who cares about his sheep with a hired hand who is only there to get something for himself. The hired hand runs when a thief or wild animal comes to destroy the flock. The Good Shepherd loves His flock so much He is willing to put Himself in danger to save the flock. Jesus died on the cross so we could have life eternal with Him. To have abundant life includes physical, intellectual and spiritual. He wants us to have a healthy body. He wants us to have knowledge of Him. He wants us to have a healthy spiritual life. If our spiritual life is not healthy, the other areas will suffer. Jesus wants us to walk with Him. He wants to be our friend. He wants a relationship that nothing can come between us and Him.
May your day be full of His love, mercy, and grace.
