“If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.” Exodus 15:26 NIV
Did you know that God has given us a diet plan? At creation, He chose the best fruits and vegetables that were pleasing to look at and had a great taste (Genesis 2:9). They lived to be over 900 years old. After the flood, the ground was not as fertile, and people were allowed to eat certain animals. See Leviticus 11 for a list of animals that could be eaten and which ones to avoid. The life span after the flood went down tremendously. People only lived about a third of the years.
Today, you are lucky to get into your 70s and 80s. Scientists, doctors, and nutritionists have discovered that the diet that God planned for us at creation, a whole-food, plant-based diet is still the best. It reduces the risk of many diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease, and more. A plant-based diet boosts your immune system. You may even lose weight. Yes, God knew what He was doing when He created this earth to sustain us.
