The Saddest Day

Then Jesus uttered another loud cry and breathed His last. Mark 15:37 NLT

How devastated the disciples and followers of Jesus were when He was crucified like a common criminal. All their hopes and dreams hung on the cross. What a sad day that must have been. It didn’t have to be sad. Jesus had been telling them what was to happen, but their minds were set on Him becoming an earthly king and they would be part of it. Their focus was on what they wanted; not what Jesus was saying. Had they comprehended what Jesus had said they would have been looking forward to His resurrection. They would have avoided a lot of mental anguish.

How about us? Sometimes my focus is on what is happening around me and not on Jesus. I could avoid a lot of anguish if I keep my eyes on Jesus.
