The Seventh Day of Creation Week

Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. Genesis 2:3 NIV

Ever wonder why there are seven days in a week instead of ten? Read Genesis chapter 1 and see how God created life on this earth in six days. Then on the 7th day, He completed His creation by blessing the 7th day. The 7th day was the crown of glory that completed the week. The number 7 is often used in the Bible to represent completeness. He even included the 7th day in His 10 Commandments. The 7th day is to remind us of our creator who created life on this earth. He is our creator. We owe our lives to Him.

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Exodus 20:8-11 NIV
