The verse after

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:17 NKJV

John 3:16 is by far the most popular verse in the Bible. If you see a sign that says “John 3:16,” you immediately know what it is talking about. You can repeat it from memory. But can you repeat from memory the next verse, John 3:17? John wants us to know why Jesus came to this world. Many people think God is watching to squash them like a bug because of their bad actions. Not so, according to John 3:17. God is not ready to condemn us. He wants to save us. That is why Jesus came to this evil world to be treated with the condemnation that we deserve. He came so we could choose life.
