Turning Around

Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. Ephesians 4:28 NIV

Dishonesty takes many shapes. It can be more than shoplifting at a store. Taking office supplies from the office to use at home is one form. Being dishonest in a business transaction or with another person is another. It all boils down to violating the basic command of loving one’s neighbor. Paul says that working for others is the remedy. Replacing a bad habit with a good one helps us overcome it. The rewards of honest labor are received and can be dispersed in the spirit of Christian stewardship. Our work can be used to help others.
