Waiting

For since the world began,
no ear has heard
and no eye has seen a God like you,
who works for those who wait for him!
Isaiah 64:4 (NLT)

Waiting has such a negative connotation. We feel like we are supposed to do something. Waiting is seen as unproductive and folks often believe that if you are waiting there is something wrong with you. Laziness, fear, insecurity are some things you may hear. But in this text the word wait means to do what you normally do as you wait.  When we wait we are not supposed to be inactive. We are supposed to continue our current process as we wait for God’s next step.  I don’t wait well. I don’t know many people that do. But in this current period of waiting, I am beginning to realize that it’s a time of expectation and excitement. I know I am waiting for something. I don’t know what but I know in his perfect time God will make it clear.
