The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV
In Deuteronomy 31, Moses is preparing Joshua to take over the leadership. God has commissioned Joshua to be the next leader. Moses was a powerful leader. I am sure Joshua was a little reluctant to fill Moses’ shoes. In Deuteronomy 31:1-8, Moses gives Joshua encouragement. He can do it with God by his side.
Have you been asked to take a leadership role because the previous leader is retiring? The previous leader did such an awesome job that we may feel inadequate to take their place. We are all leaders in some way. If you are a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, godparent, etc., you are a leader. We can take on this role if we ask God to lead us so that we can lead others. The LORD promises to always be by our side. He will never leave or forsake us. That is a promise!
