When God Says No

“LORD Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you.’ So your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you. (2 Samuel 7:27 NIV)

David wanted to build a house for God. He made a plan. God said “No” to David and then He said “I have a better plan.” David’s response was to pray a prayer of adoration (2 Samuel 7:18-29). Even when we don’t understand God’s “No”, His plan is always better. How great would our lives be if we embraced the “No” because we trusted God even when He’s directing us to something different?
