You Have Something to Give

Acts 3:6

Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” (Acts 3:4-6 NIV)

Peter and John were going to the temple, something they did every day. They came across a man begging for money. Peter said “I don’t have any money but I’ll give you everything else that I have.” Then he gave him Jesus. In this case, that came with healing the man’s lameness. When we are doing what we do each day and come across someone who is lame (in need of physical or emotional support), we often think “I can’t help them. I don’t have anything to give.” This is so far from the truth.  If you are a Christian, if you have a relationship with Jesus, you always have something to give. Remove the old mindset that giving has to be monetary. Give from your heart.  Give a little bit of Jesus. That’s how Jesus gave, he gave of himself.
