You were doing it for Jesus

And the King will say, “I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these My brothers and sisters, you were doing it to Me!” (Matthew 25:40 NLT)

In Matthew 25, Jesus talks about what the Kingdom of God is like.  Matthew 25:31-46 is a parable of the sheep and goats.  The sheep represent God’s people and their lifestyle.  They go about helping others.  When they see someone in need they take action.  It just comes natural.  Love flows out to others because of the love they have for Christ.  They are surprised to receive a reward.  This parable has a powerful message.  How we treat others represents how we treat Jesus.  When you give a homeless person a cup of water or a meal, you are doing it to Jesus.  When you visit the sick or those in prison, you are visiting Jesus.

Then the King will say to those on His right, “Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.” (Matthew 25:34 NLT)
