Trusting God

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. (Psalms 20:7 NIV)

In Chronicles 21, David ordered his army commander, Joab, to go through the nation take a census of the men that were able to go to war.  Joab objected but King David insisted.  David didn’t listen to the advice of his commander, pride got in the way and David thought he knew best.  God was angry with David because he was trusting in his mighty army and did not trust God to take care of them.  David learned a very valuable lesson.  Because of his distrust, God allowed a plague to take over the nation and many people died.  David humbled himself and admitted that it was his fault for not trusting God.  Our actions have consequences that may adversely affect others.  Trusting God is the best course to take.
